EFFECT OF QUERCETIN ON NASAL MUCOSAL DAMAGE IN CHRONIC ATROPHIC RHINITIS

Abstract
Atrophic rhinitis is a chronic disease of the nasal mucosa, which leads to metaplasia of the squamous epithelium, loss of goblet cells and occlusion of the vascular cavity. The treatment of chronic atrophic rhinitis is becoming more and more relevant and the need for correction. The standard approaches to the treatment of this problem and with the addition of quercetin were considered and compared. The impact on pathophysiological factors, changes in the intensity of lipid peroxidation, limitation of oxidative damage to proteins, changes in collagen and H2S content in the nasal mucosa was studied. Analysing the results of the study, we concluded that the addition of quercetin potentiates the reduction in the intensity of lipid peroxidation, limits oxidative damage to proteins, reduces the breakdown of collagen, and reduces the content of H2S in the nasal mucosa.
