Abstract

The paper presents an analysis of literature data and own observations of the scleroma pathogenetic treatment problem, which remains relevant and not fully resolved. However, the achievements of modern molecular microbiology in the near future can really change the algorithm of management of treatment of patients with scleroma due to early diagnosis.

The paper discusses the principles of etiopathogenetic treatment of patients with scleroma in the “Republican Scleroma Center”, which has been operating since 1980 on the basis of the ENT clinic of the Vinnytsia Regional Clinical Hospital named after M.I. Pirogov by order No. 282 of the Ministry of Health of the Ukrainian SSR dated April 29, 1980. The principles of treatment of scleroma depend on the clinical form (mainly cicatricial, infiltrative, atrophic), the characteristics of airway stenosis (localization, histological stage, degree), the availability and effectiveness of its pharmacotherapy.

Keywords: scleroma, rhinoscleroma, Klebsiella rhinoscleromatis, infiltrates, airway stenosis, scleroma treatment, dilation, bouging, stenting, tracheostomy, antibiotic therapy, probiotic lactobacilli medicines.
