APPLICATION OF SINUVIT IN THE COMPLEX TREATMENT OF PATIENTS WITH ACUTE RHINOSINUSITIS
Abstract
Topicality: Pathogenetically based treatment of acute rhinosinusitis requires the use of drugs that primarily have anti-edematous, anti-inflammatory, secretolytic and immunotropic effects. EPOS 2020 the recommendations for the treatment of patients with rhinosinusitis consider the effectiveness of herbal therapy and provide data on herbal remedies.
Objectives of the study: to evaluate the effectiveness of Sinuvit in the complex treatment of acute viral and acute post-viral rhinosinusitis.
Materials and methods: 25 patients with acute viral and post-viral rhinosinusitis were treated, in addition to standard treatment, with Synuvit. The control group consisted of 25 patients received standard treatment.
Results: The use of Synuvit in patients with acute rhinosinusitis already on the 5th day of treatment contributes to a more active recovery of mucociliary clearance indicators of the nasal cavity according to the sugar test by 8.3%, a decrease in swelling of the mucous membrane by 34.5% and a decrease in the amount of secretions by 12.5% in comparison with patients of the control group. The level of pain according to the VAS score in patients of the main group was lower by 27.3% on the 5th day of treatment. Assessment of tolerability Synovitis in all patients is good. Adverse events and allergic reactions associated with the use of Synuvit were not noted.
Conclusions: The use of Sinuvit in patients with acute rhinosinusitis contributes to a more active recovery of mucociliary clearance indicators and reduces clinical signs of inflammation compared to the control group. Synovitis is an effective anti-inflammatory agent and accelerates recovery in patients with acute rhinosinusitis.
