Abstract

Topicality: The study of the quality of life of patients with ENT pathology along with a complex clinical and functional study makes it possible to make a complete and objective picture of the quality of treatment of the disease. The impact of both the disease itself and pharmacological treatment on the physical and psychoemotional state initiates the emergence of a number of problems with social adaptation and self-assessment of the quality of life in society, as well as the quality of the assessment of treatment results.

Objective: study of the effect of the side effect of systemic antibacterial therapy in the form of dysbiosis of the gastrointestinal tract in the treatment of patients with exacerbation of chronic rhinosinusitis without polyps on the assessment of quality of life before and after treatment.

Results: If we compare the average total score before and after treatment, we will see that on the 10th day of therapy, according to the questionnaire, her results are probably better (at Р<0.05) in the group where she was treated with a synbiotic, and in the group with treatment without synbiotics, there is a difference, but it is not significant (at P>0.05). Limitation of life activity and the degree of deterioration of well-being due to specific otorhinolaryngological criteria (the first 12 points of the SNOT-22 questionnaire) in patients with exacerbation of chronic rhinosinusitis without polyps when treated both with and without synbiotics are likely to decrease on the 10th day of therapy. Analyzing the constituent scales of the psychological component of health, we observe the deterioration of the physical and emotional state, the limitation of social activity before treatment and after treatment without the use of synbiotics. Depressive and hypochondriacal syndromes prevailed in patients of the control group, accordingly, the general state of health remained poor, decreased vital activity due to almost all criteria, starting from the 13th to the 22nd. However, specific otorhinolaryngological criteria of symptoms of exacerbation of chronic rhinosinusitis without polyps in the control group were likely to improve after treatment.

Conclusions: The evaluation of the severity of the course of exacerbation of chronic rhinosinusitis without polyps and the quality of treatment of patients with the use of systemic antibiotic therapy, when using the SNOT-22 questionnaire, is influenced by such a factor of comorbidity as dysbiosis of the gastrointestinal tract. The use of a synbiotic in a dose of 2 capsules once a day during meals for 10 days from the first day of taking the antibiotic in a complex of therapeutic measures in patients with an exacerbation of chronic rhinosinusitis without polyps improves the quality of life of patients and improves the assessment of the effectiveness of treatment in dynamics.

Keywords: chronic rhinosinusitis, comorbid condition, quality of life questionnaire, antibiotic therapy, synbiotic.
