Abstract

Gunshot wounds of the paranasal sinuses vary in shape and combination. The most common are combined injuries of two or more paranasal sinuses and adjacent areas. However, isolated damage to individual cavities is also observed. CT symptoms of combined injuries consist of symptoms characteristic of isolated injuries of the paranasal sinuses. Based on this, we will first consider the tomographic features of damage to individual paranasal cavities, and then different combinations.

The purpose of the work: To describe the features of isolated and combined combat injuries of the paranasal sinuses on CT images (Toshiba on 16 slices).

Materials and methods: A description of 50 clinical cases of fresh mine-explosive wounds of the frontal, maxillary sinuses, lattice labyrinth and combined injuries of the paranasal cavities is provided.

Conclusions: CT symptoms of combined lesions consist of symptoms characteristic of isolated lesions of the paranasal sinuses. CT examination is mandatory in the diagnosis of gunshot wounds of the paranasal sinuses.

Key words: Computed tomography, paranasal sinuses, gunshot wounds.
