Abstract
The structure of the hearing organ surprises with a dramatic combination of simplicity and capacity, excites with the unexpectedness of solutions and remains the subject of active scientific research in many issues. Undoubtedly, the ontogeny of such an exquisite mechanism is not simple, and currently a thick array of data on the molecular regulation of this process has been accumulated. The technological tools of modern biomedical science allow not only to study, but also to work at the molecular genetic level and with individual immature cells. Therefore, the data reviewed in this article have, in addition to the obvious fundamental, significant applied value, as they approach the solution of the main problem of audiology – the lack of restoration of the population of auditory receptor cells, that is, they allow solving the problem of hearing restoration.
