Abstract
Purpose: practical comparison of the complex of diagnostic elements of a malignant human skin disease with the final morphological study to determine errors in their diagnosis.
Materials and methods: 85 patients with skin disease were observed, who had clinical examination and morphological examination after surgical removal of a skin tumor from 2018 to 2022. 85 patients were involved in the study. Clinical research included 25 women and 60 men, aged from 56 to 80 years. From the anamnesis, all formations were subjected to physical irritation of varying degrees, which may have prompted the aggressive development of the malignant process.
Results and discussion: Out of 85 patients, 43 patients were morphologically diagnosed with skin cancer, which accounted for (50.6%). Of these, 21 (48.8%) patients had basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and 22 (51.2%) had squamous cell carcinoma of the skin (SCC). The second group of patients – 39 (45.9%) had pigmented keratosis of the skin and only 3 patients had skin cancer of the abdominal wall, which was 3.5%.
The final results showed that the clinical semiotics did not always coincide with the morphological examination. It was in 39 patients, which amounted to 45.9% of the error.
Observation of patients with skin cancer of the face and abdominal wall for 3-5 years showed a satisfactory quality of life in all patients with malignant skin tumors, without signs of recurrence. And because no signs of relapse were observed, which confirmed that the patients were cured and it was recommended to exclude harmful actions – industrial and solar actions. But the unconfirmed malignant process of the skin testifies to the increased oncological vigilance of oncologists, and this is gratifying.
